The Leitrim COVID-19 Community Response Forum telephone and email support service continues to provide support to at risk or vulnerable people who need assistance during this current period of the emergency. If you are one of these people and you need assistance with practical matters such as: collecting medical and food supplies, need transport to attend a medical appointment or another need, please contact our dedicated help line number: 071 9650473 or freephone 1800 852 389 between 9am-5pm 7 days per week. This service is being provided at county level in cooperation with a range of public agencies, NGOs, local groups, sports clubs and others.
COVID 19 Waiver of Commercial Rates 2020
A 100% waiver of commercial rates applies for a 6 month period from 27th March 2020 to 27th September 2020 to all ratepayers except a small number of categories. The waiver will be applied as a credit in lieu of rates for the 6 month period covered in 2020. Further information is available here.
Customers wishing making to make payments should do so by online bank transfer if possible. We can also accept Debit/Credit card payments by telephone. Payments can be made using the postal service, bank draft using cheque or postal order. Please contact our Finance Dept. on 071 9620005 for a range of payment facilities.
The Motor Tax office in Áras an Chontae, Carrick-on-Shannon is open for unscheduled public access from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 12 noon.
We recommend the use of the online service www.motortax.ie, as the preferred means of renewing your Motor Tax during the current crisis, if at all possible. Your PIN for this service is the last 6 digits on the top right corner of your Vehicle Registration Cert (logbook).

Fire & Emergency Services
The Fire Service continue to respond to calls via the 999/112 system. Submission of Fire Safety Certificates and Disability Access Certificates will continue to be accepted by post or preferably by email – email@example.com . The building control management system (BCMS) will remain available for the submission of Commencement Notices/ 7day notices and compliance on completion certificates.
Under an agreement with Irish Water, our staff continue to provide a full service in terms of water supply, wastewater treatment, maintenance of the system.
The library in Carrick-on-Shannon is open for a browse and borrow service with a duration of 15 minutes per user. IT services are also available in Carrick-on-Shannon library with PC use , printing and photocopying available, Due to current HSE guidelines on social distancing we are currently limiting the number of people gaining access to the library at any one time.
